This is what I would suggest. If you think that the culprit could be your shower gel try using a different brand for a while. If the bumps still don't clear, you can be almost certain that this is razor burn. Try this : When you shave, use a good brand of razor with a lubricating strip. I reccomend Venus or Intuition. Make sure you aren't using an old blade. I know this next part seems a bit funny, but I promise, this works. Use an exfoliating facial wash on your legs, this helps to wash away any dead skin and reduces irritation. Next, apply shaving cream. This is really important. Just shaving with water is the main cause of razor burn. Finally, make sure you shave in a tub filled with warm water, the warm water helps to soften your hairs and makes it easier for your razor to remove more hairs in one stroke. DO NOT shave one spot over and over again. This irritates the skin and causes razor burn and ingrown hairs. One or two strokes should do it. After shaving, dab a towel on your legs drying them a little but not completly. Apply a non scented lotion. I hope this helps. Good Luck!

Test your shaving gel.
Put it on ur wrist overnight and in the morning if its red or inflammed ur most likely allergic.
If its fine, then its most likely razor burn like ur friend suggested. Razor burn is when u scrape off too many skin cells with your blade and irritate the skin. IF it's razor burn then ur probably using ur blade for too long. Try to use a newish razor at all times. If the blade is sharper u dont have to pass it over your skin as much resulting in less skin irritation. Plus too much razor burn can give u scarring. Good Luck!

wash your legs with warm water before you shave so they will get softer and less coarse when you shave. i get them all the time too (now i'm lasering them, so it doesn't matter anymore). also i would get a cream/gel with moisturizer in it and a razor with that moisturizing strip above the blades (for extra smoothness). when you're done, put lotion on WHILE YOUR LEGS ARE STILL WET so your skin absorbs the lotion completely.
i would suggest Nair, but i've used it and i developed an allergy to it. my skin broke out into red burning patches...and i was a cheerleader when i used it so it REALLY wasn't attractive.

I had this similar problem, and I was just getting rashes from my razor and shaving my upper leg, so I stoped for a while and let it grow. Then bought a new razor and mild non-scented soap and tried it again. Ever since then no rash and my legs are doing really good.

Your skin is sensitive. Never use soap or shower gel..thats our mothers way. Use a mens shaving cream or they have womens now too. Always moisturize after too. Another trick is to use a hot towel on the skin before you shave. It opens the pores and softens the skin for shaving.

Usually it does that because u need to replace the razor. Or you need to put lotion or something on ur legs after u do it. Your supposed to replace razors after used 3 times.

you probably have ingrown hairs that are irritated. exfoliate before you shave, make shaving in the shower/bath the last thing you do, use a shaving cream for sensitive skin. you might decide if you really need to shave your thighs -do you have really dark hair? if not, shave knees and below-the skin is less sensitive.
no matter what you do, moisturize well after the shower.
