because it's commonly known that women are almost always right. They're usually in control of the relationship, and they usually win every fight.

so men must compensate by living in denial and constantly trying to get the upper hand. They don't want to feel like the woman is smarter than them ( even though they usually are) so it's kind of a blow to the ego when females prove them wrong.

Not all men (or women) are. I think that the people who do have trouble admitting that they are wrong are that way because they want to appear like they have everything under control. Also they don't want to admit that they can't lead there group or family or whatever.

I think men are terrible at admitting they are wrong because they hate to do so. It is a pride thing. Even after you prove them wrong they still do not want to admit it. They seem to think they have to be the "greatest, strongest, can do no wrong" gender they have been portrayed as since the beginning of time.

Because they might think that being wrong means you won't respect them as much. What they don't realize is that all humans make mistakes, and that admitting a mistake is the first step toward resolving it and accepting responsibility for the consequences.

There's also the pride thing, we know everything and we're never wrong. Guys typically don't like asking for directions, because we "should" know where we're going and how to get there. But again, there is no one in the world, not even the greatest genius, who knows everything.

Not all men are like that, but those that are are bad at it because they're taught to be strong. An admission that they may (perish the thought) be wrong, makes them think they are showing weakness.

If only they knew, that by admitting when they are wrong they are actualy showing strength of character.

Uhhhh duh because we're awesome....but really i admit wen i'm wrong as do alot of my friends....after years of anoyance but thats beside the point, just like saying woman have tons of shoes, true but might not be as many as ya think, there are ego controled men *cough my dad cough cough* and they are normally the ones who won't admit wrong let your ego go....kinda sounded fruity.....uh how about kick ur ego's a** out the door like a rabid dog....yup that'lll work, see im normal ;-) that on the other hand i have picked up from my g/f :\

They're not terrible about it, we just don't like it. It must stem from a control issue, and when you're wrong you've lost control to a certain degree, or you've mad a bad decision. Nobody likes to hear that they've messed up.....

It goes back to hunting saber tooth tigers. If you are not strong and in absolute control, then everything falls apart. If you are not making difinitive decisions then no one will follow you and you don't get the pick of the women. You get the leftovers.

Perhaps your man has a problem with that.......I don't!!! Call it maturity or whatever you like....but I've always felt that not being able to admit ones mistakes is denying yourself the opportunity to learn from them.
