I got "stabbed in the back" recently by someone I love very much; it was unexpected, undeserved, very painful, humiliating, tedious, & pointless!
The type of person who does such things is not worth knowing. They have to live with themselves & even if they think they have no conscience, such uncharitable acts WILL come back to haunt them
("the kingdom of heaven & hell is within you...")
Therefore your friend has to make a choice. Either he / she lowers their standards, to become a back stabber, or they rise above such madness...
It's God's TEST, I do believe. God is testing your character to see what you are made of- good or bad. Also, do you have FAITH in your beliefs?
Revenge may give a few moments satisfaction. "Ha! take that, you piece of pond-life!" But then comes the worry. "Did I do the right thing?" "Maybe they needed some good advice? Maybe I should have just said..."
Throughout history, war's finish only when people are tired of war & they want something better...

Remember that vengeance is a dish best served cold. If he will think about it he may realize that revenge is only prolonging his feelings. He should get over this wrong and not continue it. If someone makes you mad they have won. If you are better than they are then they can not hurt you. After long thought he still wants revenge then he may have come up with someway to make them feel worse then he feels.

Firstly revenge is usually not the answer, I try to leave karma to deal with things...However in my nastier days I was a big fan of revenge, firstly it's a dish best served cold, wait till whoever it is has totally forgotten about whatever they did to your friend, and secondly make sure he picks something suitable, you know something ironic, it makes it funnier, and will make him feel great (although this will only be temporary as eventually karma will sort him out, and then he'll regret it, and then he'll think 'Oh my god someone warned me that would happen!!')

Revenge is an enormous waste of time. Anytime anyone engages in thinking about revenge he is carrying around an unimportant event that happened in the past, and using time and energy that would be much better spent on enjoying life.

Vengeful action is pointless. Half of the victims of revenge don't know who committed it, and the other half don't care.
Revenge ultimately only hurts the person doing it, as they have to live with their conscience.
If your friend has been done wrong, tell them just to avoid that person or type of person and get on with their lives knowing that they were right and good.

Your friend is only perpetuating the anger that he feels and fuelling it needlessly. Tell him to go to the gym and take his frustrations out on a punching bag.
Besides, what you give out in life will come back to you eventually.
Chill out , life is too short to go around getting even. Enjoy life.

Has your friend got the balls to carry out all the actions he said. People are always talking about getting there "own back" but haven't got the front to back those actions they squeal about.

Because eventually he will only feel worse about the situation and himself. Revenge isn;t going to reverse it or correct it so why make it worse?
