I really wished I knew because my face has been breaking out for the last couple of months and I ve been using proactiv and it seems to me like it has made it worse.

I've been seeing my dermatologist since i was about your age. It took trying a couple of different medicines before we finally found one that worked. You only tried one option. If it's not working for you, call the doc again, and let him know. You might have to try a few things, or a combination of a few things, before you find what's going to work for you. There are hundreds of different acne products out there. Just because you tried one, doesn't mean there isn't a different one out that won't work better. Also, new products and medications are coming out all the time, so there may be something new on the market that wasnt available when you talked to your doc last time. If you didn't like the dermatologist you saw last time, see a new one. Don't give up. keep trying new things until you find the one that works. It'll take a while, but it's better than nothing, and it'll be worth it when you finally find something that works.

NATURAL ACNE PROTOCOL
1/ Never, ever touch your face.
2/ Use 3 facecloths to wash your face, one to soap on, one to soap off with very hot water, one to rinse off with ice cold water, in that order, once a day.
3/ If you are under 18 take 5,000 IU of vitamin A once a day with a full meal
4/ If you are over 18 take 5,000 IU of vitamin A twice a day with a full meal.
Do not get pregnant while taking vitamin A. Do not take any more, like Accutane, it will stop you growing.
5/ Never, ever. pick, squeeze or pop your spot. Read number 1 again.
6/ Do this for 90 days.
7/ Invest in a brand new pillow and 2 new or more pillow cases to double bag' your pillow. HOT wash every couple of days.

A bit of advice given to me as a teenager, a bit of science as I am studying allergic reactions and vitamin A is a part of that. A bit of research: I sat in a lecture at the back and watched the acne prone pick at their faces, those with the worse acne touched their faces 32 times in an hour, the clearest complexions didn't touch their faces even once. I have circumstantial evidence that acne is the result of dermatophyte transfer from hands to face...where it does not get washed off and is well fed by hormones, sweat a
nd oil...just a hypothesis... But it would explain why vitamin A is so effective as vitamin causes skin to remove dermatophytes.
The secret is never to touch the spots
Tips on how to treat acne and achieve perfect clear skin in as little as 7 days?

I am in the exact same place you are. I'm on my last dose of Accutane and it's really not working for me, I've tried everything. My dermatologist said that you take it for five months, have a break, and then get three more months. It won't always cure acne, which he didn't bother to tell me until after my face looked bad 4 months into the treatment. Hopefully the second round will help but it won't cure your acne, just reduce the severity of it.
Good Luck!

I always had pretty bad skin until I started on a birth control in pill form. I started taking Yasmin when I was 17 or 18 and I swear it keeps my skin clear! I know it works, because the week I have to go off of it to get my period, I will break out a little bit. Another plus of the birth control is that if you get cramps during your period, it takes away most of the pain you would normally feel without birth control. I'm not sure how old you are, but if your parents let you look into it give it a try! Remind them that it is to help clear your skin and help your cramps! But between us, you won't get knocked up either!

Acne is a tricky one. But maybe your washing your face too much. When you over-wash, your stripping your face of its natural oils, so then your face produces an enormous amount of oil to make up for it. Just chill out, dont obsess over it. Only wash once in the morning and once at night with a mild cleanser. The treatment part is frustrating because different products work for different people. I'm actually shocked proactiv hasnt worked for you because i know tons of people that adore it, including myself. You might just need to give products time. It wont happen over night. Also make sure you exercise and forget the fast food and soda. Just know that you are your own worst critic. Be patient and keep your head up!! =]]

First, acne is only something you can try to prevent, it is a condition that is always with you and the thing to do is to be responsible for your skin care. You need to give the product time, because in many cases it gets worse before t gets better. Be sure to clean your face twice daily and to wear a SPF of 15+ all the time. Try to stay out of the sun for too long. Try to stay away from stressful situations and a bad diet.

Certain food causes acne and can even make acne worse. My suggestion is to cleanse your face twice a day. Products from Clean and Clear/Neutrogena/Fresh Face (they have products for acne). You need to drink a lot of water and eat more natural foods. Reduce the amounts of soda you drink, that can make acne worst. The best advice i can give you can be found at the website below.

there's this gel stuff called topical duac gel. u put a little on your zits every night and it works for really quickly. i think u have to get a dermatologist to tell u it's ok though.(i use my sisters so im cheating). it's like 100 bucks a bolttle but it's worth it and u only use a dab of it so it lasts longer. ask your dermatologist to tell u if it will work for u cuz u dont wanna spend 100 bucks then it doesnt work!! check out this site:
http://www.duacgel.com/about/aboutduac.html
those pics of the people that they have on there are pretty realistic, but as i said before, ask ur doctor if this id right for u cuz it may work better on some people than others. hope this helps!!! :)

yeah proactiv doesnt work unless you lose it religiously and apply the same amount every time, every day. i used to have really bad acne on my face but honestly taking a shower everyday helps. bare minerals is actually a good type of makeup. keep drinking water too =) good luck i hope that helped a little.
