Tea Tree Oil is a natural way to cure dandruff. You can buy shampoos at herbal stores that contain it or you can buy the oil and add it to your favorite shampoo. It doesn't smell real good in the bottle, but if you mix a few drops in a good shampoo, you can't smell it after your hair is dry. It is used for dandruff, dry scalp, psoriasis, and we use it on our children to keep them from getting lice in school. We haven't had one case yet and our schools have been rampant with it. It is also a good antiseptic for bug bites and will keep ticks off of you in the summer if you are in the woods. Just mix a few drops in water and spray on your arms and legs like "OFF". It is an amazing natural product. Good luck.

Dandruff is usually (not always) caused by a fungus that lives naturally on the skin, and makes your skin grow too fast (which causes flakes). Something that keeps the fungus under control works well; that's generally how many dandruff shampoos work. But dry skin will make it worse too.
I have found for myself that the best and longest-lasting treatment is henna. Most people think of henna as being a hair dye, but you can get it colourless as well. It is made from a plant, and it just happens that the plant also has excellent anti-fungal qualities. I apply henna (use package directions and the powdered form, not pre-mixed) only a few times a year, and it works amazingly well. Plus it makes your hair shiny and easier to manage.

Head and Shoulders Intensive Therapy shampoo, my dear man.
Nutragena makes a special shampoo for extreme cases and has 4x the amount of the active ingredient (which I cannot think of off the top of my head) as compared to the rest of the dandruff shampoo.

Your scalp is chronically dry. Try a hot oil treatment (cheapest is Alberta VO5--you can get it anywhere), then start using a shampoo for dry scalp. You may still need to use T-gel or some other dandruff shampoo occasionally and you may need to do occasional hot oil treatments--they are really easy to do---just put the tube of oil in a cup of hot water--massage the oil into your scalp and let it sit--then shampoo it out--it will really help your scalp. Good luck.

One can only control dandruff but never eliminate it completely!.
Never get carried away by the Advertisements.
See A Doctor, Skin Specialist, and try the Medicine recommended.
If you are not averse to shaving your head the treatment can have faster and better effect.
What we need is to attack at the Root. But most medicines get washed with the hair!

Use Nizoral shampoo every day, for the first week.
you can then use it every other day.
But do wash your hair everyday.
it cured my husband's dandruff.
but he has to constantly use it every other day, and wash his hair!
Nizoral!! cures it!
