I have really bad headaches almost everyday. In fact, sometimes I have the same headache for days at a time. They're not migraines, because I have had migraines in the past and I know what they feel like. I have taken a few things for them and nothing seems to help. What has worked best for you, my fellow headache sufferers?

It sounds like a trip to the doctor is in order. I have a friend who gets migraines and she ended up hospitalized because of what you describe. The headache just would not stop for several weeks. It turned out after loads of testing that she was suffering from a "rebound" headache. The doctors think that it was the result of taking over-the-counter medicine for her migraines. I hope you figure it out so you can prevent it, if possible.

First thing that I reccommend is to seek out a good pain management doctor. You may be having cluster headaces. they may also be muscular tension headaces. Are you in alot of stress or are you having to things that really find overwhelming. Sometimes you could have a rebound headache-this happens when you continue to take medications that seem to help but you continue to take the same medication again because the headache come back and sometimes with more intensity.Your headaches could be classified as migraine with muscular tension headaches. Sometimes your doctor may ask you to keep a headache journal. This will assist him by allowing him to know how often your HA's occur, what you were doing at the time, and even what you may have eaten, This gives him an idea of what makes the headaches come on and what may trigger them.

Headache is a pain in the head, scalp or neck.
Headaches can be caused by minor problems
like eyestrain, lack of coffee or more serious reasons
like head injury, brain tumors, encephalitis and
meningitis. Taking painkillers continuously can
have harmful side effects, so it is better to
modify your lifestyle. More information available at
