First off, let me start by saying that Iceburg lettuce is GREAT for keets.....it may not have many vitamins or minerals, but it has LOTS of water, which keets need a lot of....Secondly, you can feed them cooked plain white rice, cooked plain spaghetti, beans, corn, carrots, oranges, apples..(stay away from the seeds, they have toxins that kill birds in them.) Unsalted peanuts, cheerios, White or wheat bread, cooked beans, yams, spinach, eggs, tuna packed in water, and well cooked meat. We feed our budgies almost all of these, and they LOVE them!
Stay away from chocolate, caffine, and avacados, all which are harmful to keets, and may kill them if a lot is eaten.

Agreeing with Tomtay... also spinach, cheerios, small bits of cheese, broccoli, cooked pasta, rice, barley, corn. Don't bother with iceberg lettuce, it has no nutritional value. Nothing with caffeine or chocolate. Make sure everything you offer has been washed thoroughly and doesn't have any pesticides.

Parakeets eat just about anything..They eat hardboiled egg, carrots, apples, nuts, seeds, bread, grass....A good little hint for building calcium is, take egg shell, micro them for about 2 min, cool, then crunch them up fine...birds love them...any fruits or veggies...no choc or candy..

They can eat pretty much the same stuff that you do. What you need to know is what they can't eat, like chocolate.
