Do you think animals think in voices? Obviously they don't speak any human language, but do you think if they could they would speak the language of where they lived? in their head? i have no idea how to say what I'm trying to..but hopefully you can get it.

I don't think being as Christian has anything to do with this-animals are created by God as well so why would Christians dislike animals? By throwing that in you're just using the chance to insult them

They have there own language but to them it probably seems the same as ours does to us.We know they dream so they must conceive pictures in there head. They can probably understand a few human words. They listen when we talk so I think they try to grasp what we say. I'm not sure I'd want to know what they think of us humans though.

Many animals, such as domesticated dogs and cats, are much more intelligent than many people think.
I think my old golden retriever might be smarter than I am after all the times he has tricked me to get what he wants.
Wow, some of the fledging Christian conservative answers on here are funny. No, animals do have more than instincts.... lol.
Ever heard of that dog that could bark out several audible sustained words? Just because their vocal chords didn't evolve in the same way the human primate did does not mean they purely live on instinct....

Some people believe as I do that domesticated animals (especially pets) have more consciousness. Because of constant exposure to humans and our routines they learn behaviors and thought processes that are stronger than their instinct.
It is tougher to tell with wild animals, but some of them do exibit signs of overcoming instinct (mind over matter). They do not get the same opportunity to develope as pets do, though. Pets have a plethora of leisure time.
Language is, also, considered an important tool in complex thought accuisition. Though pets are not capable of speech they do develope language related routines with the help of their humans that they could not have developed on their own.

Well, since they don't have very complex grammar in their languages, I kind of doubt they form complex analytical thoughts like we do. A lot of philosophers think that human cognition is largely tied to language, and psychologists often agree.
But animals still see cause and effect, intention and motivation, and can understand complex systems. I think they just lack the words to organize their thoughts.
My two cents. :)

No, they think in images and sounds and smells, not in words.
