I expect we will all, in our turn, find our selves looking around the afterlife and saying "Well.....I really wasn't expecting this.....what a surprise...." As for poster's comments that that would mean Jesus was a liar, I don't think what he had to say about such things was a lie, but He consistently spoke in metaphors and parables, many people want to take what He said too literally, and this keeps them on a surface translation of what He had to say....If the afterlife were based as you describe it, I don't think it invalidates anything He said, only literal translations on the part of some of His emmisaries....

Even if there were a heaven or hell, how you lived your life is the criteria for admittance - not what religion you belonged to. Religion is the biggest farce ever created!! The god of the christians is supposed to be pretty smart. I think he could see through all this religion crap!!!

LOL I think if there is an afterlife it would be based on how you acted- how many people u helped, what u did for the world etc. Not doing what u feel like and then asking at the last second for forgiveness bcuz u are scared.

That's a big debate right there, beliefs vs acts. Bible is full of controversy over whether it is like that:

Romans 3:28
A man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.

or

Psalm 62:12
For you render to each one according to his works.

I think it would be a lot funnier if there was an afterlife and it turned out to be run by Quetzalcoatl or some other god.

But the laugh is lost because when you die, you die. And there's no way to say "I told you so!".

Can I point out that I think it's funny that a guy who uses the Crow as his avatar is saying 'if there was an afterlife?'

But yeah, there'd be a lot of really surprised people

I believe in life with christ after death, partly because with all the pain and sufferings in this world I'd long to live a life without tears and heart break and this is what Christ Offer... and 100% because i believe in the promise god revealed in the Scriptures....
