my family is planning to celebrate the druid faith and their love of nature for st patricks day. we will be eating outside and planting the flower bed, also doing an art project using only natural materials. my kids are 4 and 6 - any other ideas along this theme? music suggestions or other projects, traditional foods, etc. would be great.

i asked this question earlier today, but encountered mostly closed minds. hoping maybe the r and s "night shift" has something more interesting to offer other than smart comments about human sacrifice.

thanks : )

St. Patricks Day is not a holiday in the celtic religion of the druids, it is a day of mourning and reflection for many of us Celts as good O'l Patty drove the "snakes" out of Ireland (Ireland never had any snakes, the reference is to the Druids). We are of Irish descent, we are Celtic Pagans, and I have young ones and we celebrate St. Pats by being Irish. I make my Corned Beef Stew (it has a special history with us but happens to be Irish too). We decorate with lots of leprechauns and snakes, and quite a bit of green. We like the leprechauns because that is a particularly pagan holdover and we revel in the irony that so many people pictre St. Pat as a leprechaun. I have lots of games and the like that we use as part of our holiday celebrations if you would like to email me.

well you could plant trees, and set up something for the birds to drink or eat. And if you would like to get some really good music then all you have to do is go to a BMG music store or any music store and get a cd. There are some really nice cd's out there that i know your going to love,"both you and your family"
