Brain damage.. i know from experience. I dont quite think that was your question though. You cant and shouldnt forget them. Use the knowledge of them to better yourself and move forward. Forgetting seems like it would solve everything but it doesnt. It just adds a whole new complication and a reason to make the same mistakes twice. Sometime after youve moved on, you will realize that the thought of the other person doesnt hurt quite so much. But only time can help with that. The more you look back and dwell, the longer it takes to move on and have the pain diminsh.

Well if you loved the person from since birth it's going to take a while for you to forget them. The best thing to do is avoid them and try talking to someone else. Start dating people to see if they could take the place of the person from your past and always try to find someone to your likings. Remember it's not about the looks of the person, it's about the personality. And if the person you are trying to forget had a personality that doesn't fit you I suggest you try your hardest to forget about them.

It's hard to let someone go that you've known your whole life. First, you're grateful you knew that person. He/She might've made a positive impact in your life. Take all the good things from the time you spent together and use them to bring strength to the future. Words or experiences, forget the bad things from the past. That's the key, don't hold the past so blame, hate, sadness, suffering, etc. affects your future.
I'm sorry for what happened, and good luck.

You can't. Simple as that, unfortunately. The best you can do is move on and remember the good times. Eventually you won't think about them so much, and when you do, it will be with happy reminiscence not longing.

I don't think you can.
It takes a day to know someone, a week to like someone, and a lifetime to forget someone.

Not possible. But still, life goes on. You live with the memory.
