No, Black women are not all like that, people just don't see us as individuals. There are gold digger types in every race but it's just plain ridiculous to say that ALL Black women have these types of attitudes. I'm not materialistic, but unfortunately the hip hop culture is brainwashing a lot of young girls and women to believe that so things are important. I hope that Black men don't all feel this way because it's not true.

Most of them are not that materialistic in private, but black women, or black people in general, care a lot about image in front of other people.
So while a black chick might not really care what kinda car a dude has, if the same chick is at the club parking lot, she will only talk to a guy in a nice car because she doesn't want everyone else to see her talk to a dude in an old car.
In private when nobody is around though, she will not care.
Dated tons of black chicks and I don't drive nothing hot.

I know I do this sometimes. I have choosen a bad guy with money and good looks over a guy that is not attractive and doesn't have a car, a job or his own place. I've done this because I like a man that be there for me when I need him. Like say I call y man and ask him to come over he can drive over my house and I don't have to pick him up. Or I can call his house anytime because he lives alone not with his mom or other family members. As a woman should should expect your man to treat you special and he has to has a little money to be able to that or you will be supporting him. I'm not talking about boys but grown men. Men need to get established if he doesn't or isn't trying to do anything with his life he will expect you to take care of him. In cases where the man is in school and trying to better himself I won't knowck him if he doesn't have a car or his own place because I know he is going to have it he finishes school and he is working to be established later in life instead of staying home nothing being a leech.

No, black women are not too materialistic because most of the time the majority of us settle, We settle for love, notice when you love someone...you would accept alot from them and go through alot with them, I feel like certain blk men just have a bias against us because even when we are being manageable, we still do not get a break. I am one who is a sucker for love, im good to my man , im nagging free and drama free but I still fall for the wrong guys... I do believe we prefer nice cars and nice things but we dont always get so men are just using excuses

Men make any excuse not to admit that when it comes to love, they FAIL miserably (sorry guys). On the other hand, if SEX is the question, guys have a frekin' PhD. in it.
I dont want money, ... I want a REAL MAN who will RESPECT me.
All the s-h-i-t that BET puts out about what black women want is BULL crap.
The real statistics are that over 70% of African-American children are born to UNMARRIED mothers.
What does that say?? Either the men are jerks and refused to admit that having sex can produce a BABY (hello!) and/or the black woman didnt respect herself enough like the half-naked, thong-wearing, tight-jeans, whores on BET who want diamonds, gold, and S-H-I-T.
Sorry for all of my French , but I just have to be frank with you.

I would agree.
You can't characterize an entire race because of a few experiences. Everyone does it, but essentially its not fair to anyone.
Anyone can be materialistic, lovely.

I think society as a whole has become extremely dillusional, and has a entitlement problem.
The things that were once important to Americans are not important anymore...IPODs, cellphones, e-mails, computers, etc, have long superceded quality time with family and friends...and on top of that we are nickled-dimed-and worked to death!
It's not just "black woman"...it's the whole freaking rat-race!
