I've been in the same situation with my current boyfriend. We've been together for a lil' over 2 years and i still love him just as much as i ever did. he told me a huge lie and he didn't think i'd find out about it but I did. when i confronted him about it he admitted everything and apologized about it for weeks. But it didn't matter to me cuz that trust had been broken. but we sat down and had a long talk and we worked things out. he didn't cheat on me either but it was a huge lie. but in the end he made everything better. you just have to make up your mind not to let things like that tear you down. you can choose to trust someone. he's always been there for me no matter what and im so glad i didn't give up on us.

some people can never get over something like that whether he cheated or lied. some can never let go of the fact because once he says that his car broke down and you didnt pick up the phone so he called his bestfriend to pick him up and it was late and he stayed over for the night then you in your mind would have doubted that because he has made a big lie before and he could be doing it again.
i have seen relationships that have gone for years and the BIG lie that he said before dating broke the both of them up because the other wasnt trust worthy and the other one couldnt let go of a fact. some people just dont care and i see that you do. now really it depends on you and how tolerent you are with people because if alls you can think of is that ine night that he lied when he says that nothing happened between him and his friend then a relationship wont be able to go on because there is no trust.
but you do have to consider the fact that he did tell you about the lie [unless you founsd out yourself] because then there would be some sort of trust gain because he told you. so really it is up to you and your tolerance.

Well, first have a talk with him and explain that he has damaged you're trust. You have to tell him how you feel and you have to make sure that you are willing to forgive him and give a second chance.

Forgiving him completley means you don't bring this back into arguements, and you don't dangle it above his head. Once you say that you forgive him, you 100% forgive him.
If you feel you can't forgive him then maybe its best not to let the relationship move on. Its bad to harbour resentment.

And as far as anything else goes, he has to earn you're trust back and make sure he understands that. It will take time and forgiveness to make it work. If you both are willing to do that, then it should work out okay.

I wish you luck with this.

A lie is just a lie, not that big of a deal. If he were to cheat, then you could never forgive him.

i have trust issues too.... and the thing i hate the very most and can make me the maddest is a lie. but the thing is .... everyone has told a lie call him on it ,get over it , and go on. but tell him that he will have to earn your trust back, and that may take a while.

u have to realize that everyone is a human which means that everyone makes mistakes and if he is TRULY sorry for telling u this huge lie, then u have to forgive him and let him prove to u that he will not lie again and that takes time..a lot of time

He has to prove it to u through his actions and ways and plz realize that everyone makes mistakes (it is in our nature) no one is perfect

Good Luck

ohh and being supportive helps too!!!

A tiger doesn't change it's stripes. If he lied about one thing, he will lie about others. If you want to stay with him, forgive him for your own peace of mind, but buyer beware!

Its hard to trust someone who has lied to you. but its all up to you if you to decide wheter you will trust them or not trust them. If you want to trust him, you want to let go of thinking that he will lie to you again.
