Pell grants are awarded solely on demonstrated financial need to every eligible undergraduate student who hasn't already earned a bachelor's or professional degree. The amount of your Pell grant will depend on your financial need, your college costs, and whether you're attending college full time or part time. The funds can be used for tuition, fees, and living expenses. For the 2004-2005 award year, Pell grants for full-time students ranged from $400 to $4,050.
Pell Grants do not have to be repaid.

Pell Grant is money you can get towards your school. It's paid directly to the school, not to you. It's based on your FASFA application. The amount you get, if any, is based on your income or your parent's income. You can go online and fill out the application your self, or go to your school and they can help you fill it out. You will need a copy of your tax info and a w-2 form.
I'm in the process of going through all of that myself.
Also, go to www.fastweb.com. It's a website you can register on for free to apply for scholarships and grants. Good luck!

You can apply for all the federally funded loans/grants through the FASFA. Just check what you are interested in. Your income just has to be under a certian limit, like you can't be rich and then expect the govt. to give you a bunch of money. Anyway they gave me one this semester.

There deadlines and you have to check with your financial aid office. The first thing you HAVE TO DO is fillout a FAFSA form; you can do this online or mail in the paper form. This is a free service and it's the 1st step in obtaining any loans or grants.
