It is required to be faster paced.. so no slow songs, and yea. I really don't want those songs like London Bridge crap.. stuff you'd try out with like a musical song, or a country song.. or a Disney song even.. I just need ideas! Help!!

for an alto range, i might go with 'If Momma was Married' from Gypsy, but it's a duet so you could sing both parts. Also 'There are worse things I Could do' from Grease, and you could speed that one up. Maybe 'What is this Feeling' from wicked, also "I'm not That Girl' also from Wicked.

If you are looking for songs for musicals that you can move to I would suggest looking at shows from Chicago because there are good belting songs in that. Also if you want to do something a little more recent from a Broadway show you should look into Wicked, it is pretty popular and the main character is an strong alto. There are also books you can buy that have songs or parts of songs that are strictly designed for ranges and auditions. You can find these books at local music stores and on-line.

Orange colored Sky, as sung by Natalie Cole.

It's fun, it's fast, it has a catchy tune, and it has sorta nonsense words, which is entertaining for the audience.

Here's the lyrics with Guitar Chords:

And you can hear a snippet of it here:

Just push the "listen" link next to the name.
