Contact the airlines...let them know the situation. They will let you know if they have special provisions for hanging the dress in a compartment on the plane. Do not trust it to check through luggage that gets 1)tossed all over the place, 2)placed on the wrong plane or worse 3)gets lost!.
Otherwise, best bet is to send it in one of those thick Bridal Dress boxes via a carrier like DHL, have it insured and once the dress arrives in Hawaii, have it professionally steamed to get out any wrinkles.

i don't understand why Hawaii isn't the #a million group interior the country. they're the only college who hasn't lost a single interest, and however the are ranked below even Florida, who has 3 losses! My No. a million p.c.. is Hawaii. After it particularly is Ohio State, because of the fact they have gained very almost each and every interest performed by using fairly a substantual margian. Their interest rankings in many circumstances went into the 40s and each now and then 50 or greater. I provide third place to West Virginia, and 4th to Missouri.

Hand carry it on the plane if the airlines will let you. Have the store put it in a garment bag or box so that you can store it safely in the airplane. I had mine in a garment bag and folded it in half to put it in the upper compartment in the plane. Just so you know that you are handling it. If they dont accept it as a hand carry see if it can go with your luggage but see if they'll insure it so if something does go wrong you can claim it.

there is a box you can buy that is made only for wedding dresses. i would check with the bridal store for more details.
if not that than a good garment bag taken as a carry on should be good for travel.

You can roll it in tissue (lots of tissue) and pack it in plastic and then put it in a bag. When she gets to Hawaii she can have it steamed professionally.
