I didn't realize it was so horrible. Besides some bigots that are out there, it is meant to be positive. You sound strongwilled, to have changed your believes, so just move on.

You know.., I know kinda where you're coming from. Bare with me a minute would ya? I'm not going to guilt trip you here. Not gunna happen.

In Christianity there are unbelievable numbers of denominations (sects) and few if any of them can agree on much. And the majority say if you don't believe their way, you'll burn in hell and fry like a pig.

So, even if you entertain the idea that sinners go to a flaming hell.., its only logical that all these conflicting sects (denominations) cant be right. One would have to be at least close to being right and finding that one is like looking for a needle in the proverbial haystack.

Here's a not so novel idea...,
Jesus was not a member of any sects, neither were the Apostles. So, throw away the sectarianisms and study the Bible in prayer, asking God to show you the truth. IF YOU DO THIS.., it will happen. Maybe not the way you would expect, but it will happen. If you do it.

In all due fairness, you cant experience Christ in a sectarian divisional group. Try Christ, not the "todays Christianity" bunch. It just is not the same. The word Christian has been muddied and now has a stigma attached. The word was initially devised by the SECULAR, and first used in Antioch in Paul's time. Its not something Jesus and his followers just made up and said.., "We will now be called, Christians".

Originally, followers of Jesus were known as, "Followers of The Way".., Jesus, being The Way. Okay its not as short as the word Christian, and it doesn't have a glitzy jazzed up appeal.., but thats not what Christ is about.., he is not about showmanship and putting on Tv fake miracles for money or non of that garbage.

Try to get to know the "real" Jesus apart from the insanity of confusion. Note I am not telling you what the way is or what its like. Hopefully you will explore this and ask God to show you and help you to understand. Don't force it. Just read the Bible (start with the New Testament) and let it flow. if you get nothing right off, don't worry about it.

We let God down, he doesn't let us down. he might not let us have our way every time, but what real father does? Please, for your own sake.., not mine.., not for that church down the street..., explore this. If after six months to a year you have not made progress, fine. Go your own way.

When others fail to match up to the Bible, when others fail to even hold their own codes of morality, does that mean you have to follow them.., or worse.., does that mean you have to throw in the towel and not live what YOU know to be true?

Nonsense? An eternity with Christ with the streets of gold and the crystal sea. What are you smokin? Come back to the Lord. He'll take you back with open arms!

Join the ever increasing crowd. Most people who claim to be Christians are really the decendents of Christian parents. Today the educated class is most Agnostic. They dont believe most of those old tales. That goes for Christians, Muslems and the whole lot.

What is there to "get over'

There is no getting over it. If you was truly a Christian then you know the word. If not, I'll remind you: Hebrews 13:5 . . . God has said, “NEVER will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” And since God can't lie, just know that where ever you go from henceforth, there shall he be also. So welcome back, friend.

If you think you were a Christian, then you are mistaken You NEVER were one. So move on and get ready for some heat down there.

Otherwise Jesus would like to have you in His family if you would like to genuinely accept Him.

Read the Bible. If you actually read it, you'd see the all contradictions and plot holes in His "Word of God." That's the best way I can think of.

And to the lady who said Jesus cures all diseases: If Jesus was the cure to all diseases, why do we have disease today? If Jesus is the cure, why do you get sick? Is it fair to say that God punishes the mentally retarded, when most are innocent and believe in God? What disease is Jesus curing, exactly?
