Is there a way you could brew a beverage that looks and tastes like beer but doesn't have alcohol?(not a virgin martini or whatever you people call it) I'm doing a science project and I have less than a week and am pretty desperate. Since that would probably be a hit with parents of teenagers maybe I could get like a C- or something.

No. The process of making a non-alcoholic beer is a complicated one, and not something you could do at home. I home brew and don't know how to do it. It is done with a process called vacuum evaporation where most of the alcohol is removed. You could make a low alcohol by stoping the fermentation, but not even as low as the "non-alcoholic" beers on the market that actually have .2-.5% alcohol. Not appropriate for under age or on school grounds.

There are loads of non-alcoholic beers.

O'douls
Buckler
Haake Beck
Kaliber
Sharps

Heck, even Coors, St Pauli and Old Milwaukee have NA beers.

Whether or not they taste the same is in the eye of the beholder.

Even in college, alcohol inspired projects are not condoned. You simply can't use anyone as legal control group and you can't compare flavors of something you are not supposed to have experience with. If a passing grade is your goal, change your topic.

You can't fake a beer IMO sorry. Most will tell you something like "Horse piss and water" But beer is a aquired taste and it's the only thing I drink other than water and coffee peorid. All beer has even a trace amont of alachol in it. not possible to make a true "Beer" Without.

Malta is essentially unfermented beer. Instead of adding yeast to ferment it, you'd had a metabisulphite to prevent fermentation.
