My ex ended our relationship 6 wks ago. We didn't speak for 3 weeks & she contacted me. I decided I should try and get her back but not push too much and see what happens naturally.
We met for a drink, everything seemed good and the spark was still there. The next time we spoke she wasn't so warm.
We will meet up again in a week or so. I am just going to see how things are.
If over a few weeks it seems we should be together then I will come out and say it to her. I know if I do that too soon she will get scared and that will probably be it.
Trouble is, it is her birthday in 10 days. I would like to buy her something, not the level of presents I would have bought her if we were together but something to show I still care whether or not we are together.
I am worried that if I buy her something she may think I am being pushy but also know she may be upset if I don't, although she would never say it.
Any suggestions?
Do I drop the gift round on her birthday?

There is absolutely nothing wrong with buying your ex a pressie, and it will certainly help keep the lines of communication open. Even if you never get back together, there will always be a little of her in your heart and hopefully vice-versa. A present should therefore be a gentle reminder of that and a statement that you still care and can be adult about the matter. And of course pop it round on her birthday. But, if you want to show that you are really in control here, simply make the giving a low key affair and don't push for any consolidation or romantic response out of it. Just give her time to absorb your action and kindness and respond in her own good time. Whatever happens from this, you have done the right thing!

Honestly, no you shouldn't but her a gift. It seems that she can't make up her mind. One day she's nice, the next she completely disses you. I think she wasn't happy in the relationship and decided to leave, but can't imagine you with anyone else but her. So instead of just letting you be, she contacts you and then acts weird.
Honestly I don't think she deserves a nice guy like you. I'm sure there are other girls who would appreciate someone like you. She broke up with you, so it's her loss, not yours. I know it hurts, and I can see that you really care about her, but if you get her a gift it just proves to her that she's got you around her finger. Don't fall for it. Try to move on.
There are plenty of fish in the sea...if your ex is treating you like this, she's not worth the gift.
Good luck, hope you'll find someone who deserves you !

hmm I would but make sure that it is clear that u r buying the gift as a FRIEND and not trying to manipulate her (that would not be good) and maybe if things get better between the two of u things will progress so what I am saying is give her a small gift as a friend not a mutual interest or anything else
Good Luck!! im rooting for u!!!

This is a bad idea. You're basically telling her it's ok for her to do as she pleases with you and you'll always come running back. If I were you I'd just leave it, be friends if you want in a few months but that's all.

buy her a teddy bear. buying her a teddy bear says "i like u" for example when people go to a carnival the girl loves it when the boy wins her a teddy bear. if u buy her something more special than that then ur being too pushy

Simple, NO. You don't even know where you stand with her and she can use you whenever she wants, move on.
