It's you, easy to talk to, helpful, easy-going and laid back. STOP trying to be so nice all the time. learn how to say no every now and then. Stop always hanging around the girls, hang out with the guys sometimes. If you present yourself as the big brother -- guess what, you are going to be the big brother -- hence you are forever destined to be in THE FRIENDSHIP ZONE!!!

Do make your feelings clear. The worst mistake you can make is to not make your feelings clear early enough. Lots of people will just hang around without expressing their feelings and it's not a good way to be anything more than a friend. Some of the easiest ways to do this are to ask the person out. Ask them to lunch or for coffee, not as a group outing. Ask them if they are seeing anyone, that's about as clear as you can get. You don't need to make a big deal about it. If they say they are seeing someone, just say, "oh, that's too bad".

Do make it clear you'd still like to be friends if the feelings aren't reciprocated. If you do the above and the response isn't positive, don't be a jerk about it. Hopefully, you did the above early enough that you aren't going to get too upset and can honestly be just friends.
