I have asked this question a couple of times to all my friends, but I have gotten insufficient answers. Just wondering to expand my knowledge, if anyone could possibly tell me, because I have tried to reason with myself many times as to why The Old Testament( the "real" of God, in my pov) should be changed, but I honestly can't find a reason. So if anyone could help, it would be greatly appreciated =)

The Old Testament and the New Testament are equally God's word. The OT is prophecy of the coming of the Messiah, Jesus along with historical accounts that have significance and teach lessons. When Jesus is born, does his ministry , put on trial, dies and raises up from death at his Resurrection, he fulfills Old Testament Prophecy. There is still some prophecy to be fulfilled from the OT pertaining to end days, but all prophecy pertaining to the Messiah, except 2nd coming, has been fulfilled by Jesus. The New Testament is a continuance and further explanation of historical accounts and of Gods law and also prophecy of the 2nd coming and end days as well. We see OT prophecy fulfilled in NT Gospel.

THE NEW MOST CERTAINLY DOES NOT ERASE THE OLD!!

The split between the old and new testaments is that the New Testament deals entirely with Jesus, and the Old Testament was written before he was even born. Christians observe the entire Bible, Jews only observe the first 5 books (the Torah).

There is a marked change in tone between the two testaments, going from the "If you sin, I will smite you" of the Old Testament to the "If you sin, and you are sorry, I will forgive you" of the New Testament.

Pretty much is saying Old Covenant and New Covenant. Old Testiment was a time that people didn't have the access to God through Jesus, and the New Testiment is otherwise. The Old Testiment was written in Aramaic and Hebrew. The New testiment was written in Greek. Basically God is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow, so God doesn't change. The simplest way to put it is the Old Testiment is the old way of seeking God's pressence and the New Testiment is the new way through Jesus Christ.

Old Testament is also called the Hebrew Scripture since it was written primarily in Hebrew and Arabic.
There was a few hundred years that went by from the time the Hebrew Scriptures were complemented until the New Testament or Christian Greek Scriptures were written.

The Old Testament, is what Jews read. We don't have versions, and we most certainly don't have a "New" Testament. That is a Christian concept. They consider the Tanakh (Torah, N'veim, and K'tuvim - Torah, Prophets and Writings - Someone can help me with that word in English) "old." When I've asked the Q, I was told that the "New" erased the "old." (i.e. hence eating pork - an abomination in the Torah, but not for Christians) But not for Jews

The old testement is all the things God taught in ancient Bible times to Moses, and Noah and such. The Old Testement presented different laws, becuase, before Christ died for our sins, there was no way to get to Heaven. The Old testement taught things like "An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth." Though the Jews were God's chosen people, they were not perfect, so God told them to bring justice to people on Earth. After Christ came, there was a way to Heaven, and so the laws changed and Christ said "If they slap your cheeck, give them your other cheeck" After Christ died, justice would be served by God, and God alone. It is not our place to bring "justice" to those who do us wrong. God did not show mercy in the Old Testement, there are many accounts of him stricking people dead, but there is only love in the New Testement (with the exception of Revelation) Basically, they teach the same principal (love God, love others) they are just 2 different sets of directions.

There is a saying, "The new is in the old concealed, the old is in the new revealed".

If you remember that, you will pretty much have it. The Old Testament (or Tonakh) was written to prophesy the first and second coming of Messiah. You will see this clearly in my small tabulation of just a few messianic prophecies in my study here...

Yeshua fulfilled the requirements for the redemption of man, thus turning the relationship between G-d and man into one of fellowship and not via earthly priests and rituals.

John 5:39
You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me.

With Yeshua now THE Lamb that takes away the Sin of the world, a new order was established--not based on the Law, fading traditions, or ritual sacrifice, but rather on the finished work of Yeshua HaMashiach. See Hebrews 9

Hebrews 9:11
But Christ came as High Priest of the good things to come, with the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands, that is, not of this creation.

I don't know if this will help you. But, my understanding is that JESUS CHRIST was not put into the form of a human being in the Old Testament. That's what the New Testament is. It's about JESUS's life and afterward. You can always pray for guidance from GOD. Good luck and GOD bless you!

Because Christianity is an offshoot of Judaism. Or an usurpation, or the "fulfillment" of Judaism, depending on your POV. Christianity took the Hebrew holy books (the "OT") and radically revised the theology, appropriating dogma and ritual wholesale from paganism, wrote their own books (the "NT") on this basis and rewrote all the moral, spiritual and ethical rules, and ran with it.
