I'm black. (My parents are from Trinidad and my parents are from India).I have what they call 'good hair', but its not straight enough to leave out all day without straightening. I don't have a perm, so my hair is natural I usually have my mom braid it every week in cute hairstyles, but it gets boring. I don't want a perm, but what can I do with my hair. I've looked up natural hairstyles, but they keep showing me all these weird afro styles, but my hair is too long to style that way. Any suggestions?

Lol, I'm not cutting it off like Britney, and on America's Next Top Model- they just put in weave....which I don't want to do.

You could always pull a Britney and shave it all off.

please DONT cut it. I'm black too and i know our hair can be hard to style but sometimes braids is the best way. and from how u describer ur hair braids is the best way for u. try half braided and half down. orrrrrrrrr try this The loose, wild, sexy look

achieve the Loose, Wild, Sexy look by using different size of curling irons irons. Curl hair in different directions, too.

Natural curls are not all the same. Start some from the ends, others from the root and spiral down to the ends for that ringlet look. Even a bend or wave gives the illusion of movement. Hair that stays perfectly in place is passé'

I would suggest getting your hair braided in the front and leave your loose natural curl in the back. Maybe getting your hair "french braided" all over in some kind of design you like. If you want to wear it straight, you could use a ceramic flat iron and it would only last temporary. But don't get it relaxed b/c it will cause damage to your hair.

I think you should get a perm if your hair is curly you can freestyle braid you hair by on half way braiding the top and letting the rest of your hair me curly. If your hair is a wild curly like a afro you could always bye moose or you can get curl activator.

Check out hair magazines in the store like Black Hair or Hype hair. Tell your mom what you like then maybe she or you and your friends can try :Curling your hair with a curling iron. Get flat twist. straighten it with a hot comb/flat iron. Try blow drying it. Wear it in a ballerina type bun. Box braids. Cornrows Ponytails Put gel in it . You can do lots of things just try something!

You need to go to www.motowngirl.com and get some ideas for some styles for your hair becuase I, too have hair that has a mind of its own and both my parents are of carribbean descent and there are days when I had cut it all off but it grows like wild so hopefully you will see something on this site thatyou like and can use...Good Luck!!
