If you set the bottle out in a safe place the cork will fly out as the champagne warms. Put a kitchen towel over it and wait...or....this is fun but has it's risks:
"sword" the bottle
Go outside to a safe open place. Remove anything from the neck of the bottle. Have a large, heavy knife ready. Turn the bottle until you find the seam, it is very small and may be hard to see. Take the knife and lay the blunt (not sharp) edge of the blade perpendicular to the seam about half way down the bottle. Point away from you and anyone else or any objects that might get hit and damaged. Smoothly, quickly, with one motions slide the knife up the seam until it hits the lip on the top of the bottle. The top from the lip up, including the cork with cleanly break and fly off.
DO NOT try to push the cork in (you probably couldn't anyway) or remove with a corkscrew.
All of the above methods have danger and risk, so if the champagne is not worth it just chuck it.

I actually saw a TV show on this (it was regarding wine but it could apply to champagne too). If the cork is too far down, you are suppose to push it into the bottle and then pour yourself the first glass of wine or champagne so that you serve yourself any loose pieces or cork particles that are floating on the top, while you serve your guests the rest of the clear wine. It makes sense, just like in other rules of dinner etiquette and politeness to your guests.

If the cork has broken, there is a good chance there's been a little leakage, so I wouldn't be too concerned about the pressure.
Insert cork screw-tilt bottle away from you and twist it 3-4 times. Cover bottle and cork screw with napkin-again pointing bottle away from you and pull. Pour and enjoy.
