I have a loaf of bread and I want to make toast. The "sell by" date is a month ago. There is no mold on the bread. It smells fine and the bread is still soft. I don't want to waste a perfectly good loaf of bread. I want to know if it's all right to eat.

Actually, most people don't know that bread mold grows from the inside out. The green part of the mold that you see is the "flower" part of the mold. It is "moldy" for 2-6 days prior to the green mold being visible to the eye. If it smells bad, don't eat it.

No don't eat it. Maybe the mold is growing on it and you just don't see it. It can grow on the inside of the bread. Mold also tastes really sick and nasty but i heard it is good for you. So if you feel comfortable go through it.

What the hell kind of bread did you buy? A month and no mold?
I don't think it's ever been all right to eat.

it truly is fairly some dough & yeast for a million little dogs to digest. i'd be in touch. Bread does no longer digest nicely in dogs. it ought to easily sit there and make a real mess in the dogs abdomen & intestines. it really is been be conscious of to reason bowel obstructions or perhaps reason the tummy to rupture. i'd call your vet for suggestion formerly i'd say oh do not worry.

Don't eat it as bread is perishable and will spoil. Just because you can't see any mold it still has grown other bacteria that will make you sick.

IF there is no mold -- go for it. Especially for toast -- that's about all I'd use it for, because it's probably too dry for anything else.

If you are gonna toast it, it is ok but don't make a sandwich out of it if the date expired a month ago.

Well, is it a lil hard/stale...if it is it'll still b ok bcause when u toast it, it'll just get harder...but the heat will kill the bacteria if there is any that is growing microscopically, is that a word?
