Someone comfortable with his/her beliefs would not be offended to share this information sooner then later.

It is a bit much to ask all 40 questions at once on the first date. I think if the date has gone very well and the two have dicussed other important topics then the second or third date would be the apporpriate time to ask if they attend church. That will generally lead into their religous practices and beliefs.

I think that questions is one of the first questions you should ask someone. And its good when it comes up in a conversation like talking about passed away loved ones or someones family. Its good to ask questions every once in a while just as long ad they are not random, you dont want to throw anyone of. But the questions of spirituality is a very important subject that can determine the status and what to expect in the future

I personally don't like it when my family and friends ask me about my religion (not saying here). I just think it shouldn't matter whether the person believes in God, Buddha, or follows the Talmud. They are still people- right??

I would take it one question at a time. Don't be too nosy about the rituals, but if his family wants you to participate in anything, you should ask them what you should do, (i.e. what to wear, how to pray, what to say, etc.).

Most importantly, if a prayer or a ritual makes you uncomfortable or is rather confusing, there is nothing wrong with sitting out. Just be quiet and respectful.

It depends on how important God is in your life. For me, God is number One, so if I decide to date someone, one of the very first questions I ask is "What is your relationship with God?" I couldn't let myself get emotionally involved with someone that did not have the same or very similar beliefs.

You can ask them all at once - it's kind of fun that way. Use your judgement on when it's nearing the too much information zone.

When it comes up naturally in a conversation. Otherwise, it's like you're sizing him up for some serious relationship.
