What is the most important thing to come out of the Sixties?

by that i mean did the sixties change our government for the worse or better and why?!? what do you think

I think the moment they realized their government wasn't the golden altar of democracy as once presented. Is when freedoms both civil and personal were advanced in many ways during that era.

The 60's changed our government for the better, or at least I thought so until the last 6 years. We began to question authority and learned that we had more of a voice when we banded together and protested peacefully at the wrongs the authority was perpetuating. For example: the Civil Rights movement and the draft, just to name a few. Hope this helps. Wish the young 'uns would do the same NOW but it looks like the most active voices still belong the the Peace and Love Generation.

Mmm, I think it both ways. The Johnson Administration's failure to tell the truth about Vietnam undermined social progress that would have otherwise been made. But, I think a lot of progress was made in the 60s.

Specifically, the civil rights movement really coming of age.

I don't know that it had any effect on our government. Perhaps if they (60's Movement) had been more pro-active and less pro-acid they might have made a difference.
