Do you mean passport photo?
Cost of an actual passport is $97 .. and it's a government fee, so it doesn't vary by state or place you get it. The most common place to get a U.S. passport are post offices that have that service available.
So I am assuming you are asking about a passport photo ....

A passport photo at Costco costs $4.95, a pretty good deal!
If you are feeling crafty and want a project you can make your own! It is a little known fact that there is no magic to passport photos, they are just photos of particular dimensions. For instructions, checkout the Lifehacker site here:

You need to get the passport itself from a government office like a Post Office or an Embassy. The passport application fee is $67. The execution fee is $30. The total is $97 and if you need to get it fast it costs an extra $60 plus shipping.

The cost to obtain a passport is $97.00, part of which goes to the State Department and that amount is $67.00 and then $30.00 to the Post Office which you get them at. You will also need to obtain passport photos which can be done at any Wal-Mart which I think was around $10.25 for two photos. It will take about 6 to 8 weeks for it to be sent to you once all the necessary paperwork has been filed.

Since when is Costco issuing passports? check this out: http://travel.state.gov/passport/passport_1738.html. And, by the way, be prepared to cough up about $100 per passport.

If you are a member of AAA in CA, you can also get a passport picture at one of their offices. It is cheaper than a photography store in the mall which takes passport pictures. As others have stated, they will take your picture at the site where you get the passport, post office or govt. bldg. Call your local post office and ask

I thinks getting a passport including picture. (two separate prices) Cost $100.00 all together. Though you can find cheaper places that charge less for your photo. But US passport cost same no matter where you are.
