why do guys like pretend to like you and then like ignore you completely?

yeah um people sumtimes do this to me and my friends....why?

Guys have one track minds. So they are only doing one thing at a time. So if they are flirting..that is all they are doing. When the b-ball game comes on(or anything else)...you on longer exist.

Also a guy looks for signs that he is not just wasting his time. If you are all cold and standoffish he will ignore you. What is the point of being nice to you if he won't get any reaction.

And they could not like you and only pretend to like you just to mess around.
