I lost weight on Lexapro, but it did not work well for my depression. I started on Cymbalta which helped with the depression but I did gain weight.

Give Lexapro about four weeks to work. If you are feeling better and your weight is OK, you should be OK. If you do gain weight but it is helping you, then ask your doctor for something similar that may not cause weight gain.

Not everyone gains on Lexapro.

My husband used to take lexapro, and he did not gain weight. But he was getting sleepy throughout and felt like crashing everyday around 4pm. So he switched the time of day he took it, at night, so that it would not make him so sleepy while he was working.
