how long will it take for the akc paperworks to be processed? The puppies are getting old, they are now 4 weeks old should I just register them as APR? Or can it be a dual registration?

Just register them APR. AKC will only register puppies if BOTH parents are AKC registered and they will NOT accept APR so if the father is APR you will not be able to dual register the pups.

BTW If the sire and dam of the father are AKC why would they have bothered with APR? AKC is a legit registry unlike APR.

If the male isn't registered with AKC chances are he won't be.

APR is used by people who's dogs aren't registered with AKC, sometimes these dogs have been given limited registration with AKC. That means that no litters from that dog are eligible for AKC registration.

People using APR are trying to sell otherwise unregisterable puppies, often times for as much as you'd pay for a well bred AKC registered pup.

Registering with APR is as useless as registering with the Continental Kennel Club. Neither registration is worth the paper its printed on.

If the dad doesn't have AKC registration then forget it. In order for him to get his AKC registration he would not only have needed AKC reg. parents but also have come from an AKC registered litter. Also APR is not a legit registry, it is only a scam registry designed by irresponsible breeders to con people into believing that they are buying registered, purebred dogs/puppies. Breeders that use and promote these con registries do so because the dogs they have aren't really purebred, can't be registered in a real legit registry, were sold on limited reg.and spay/neuter contracts but the owner decided to go against contract and breed anyway or the owner/breeder has been suspended from doing business with a legit registry.Any "papers" from one of these types of registries are worthless..not worth the paper they are written on.

Ok first the pups are not old. The pups should stay with the mom until they are 8 weeks old. If both the parents of this litter are AKC then you can register the litter on line through AKC. If only one parent is AKC and the other is not then you Can Not register the litter with AKC.
Why was the male not registered with AKC if both this parents are AKC registered????

I think you may have something mixed up here.

I wouldent bother with APR, just keep trying with the AKC, might take a little bit but its worth it...dont rush, your pups are only 4 weeks!!

Yeah just make sure you get that sire registered first!!!

that is why backyard breeders should not breed dogs because they don't know what they are doing.
