My mom was telling me about this reading she and my father had at their wedding. It was about how marriage is the joining of two families and how the man now has a new family, just as a woman does. It was all about the forming of a new family.

I can't seem to find it. Does anyone know what it is?

Mark 10:6-8

6 But from the beginning of creation, 'God made them male and female. 7 For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother (and be joined to his wife), 8 and the two shall become one flesh.' So they are no longer two but one flesh.

This is the only thing that I could find that was close to what you were looking for. I think that the exact thing that you are looking for is something that the priest or pastor says during the ceremony. If you aren't sure, go to your church and ask your priest or pastor. chances are, he's said it for many weddings. Good luck!

OK i know what you are talking about, but its not a reading from like the bible, its a story a minster, or preacher or a father tells. The best way to get the full story is to take to you minster.

Hope this was of help
