Hi wow, so I'm not the only one I have never been with a black guy before in my life and I chill with them as friends but it has never been any further than that and I feel so weird about that. Anyways I think that yes you should go out on the date and just give him a chance.
It's nice to know that I am not the only one.
Take care and have fun on your date.

This sounds like you have unresolved issues. It would be a good idea to understand why you're not attracted to Black men. Not to change yourself, necessarily, but it's a good idea to at least understand why you do things like this. Such tendencies can cause you to miss out on something really good -- or can lead you into something really bad (it's not as if all White guys are good news...).
For example: when I was in my 20's I had a bad habit of dumping a woman if she was ever late for a date. When I realized that this was due to an incident back in high school when I got stood up, I realized that I had to let that one bad experience go so that I could enjoy many new pleasant experiences. Good thing, too -- the woman I eventually married isn't at all punctual. The point is, you shouldn't let a past that you're not even consciously aware of limit your future.

I believe that every potential partner should start as a friend first. If you hang out with this light skinned fella, and there is no chemistry, then you've made another friend. If you do have chemistry, then kudos. And, no you don't sound shallow. That's just your preference. I don't usually date black people or Hispanic people, but there have been exceptions. Good luck with whatever you decide.

First of all to the stupid idiot Ben Dover that said that all black men are criminals.. that was a very ignorant statement. There are alot of hard working, well educated black men out there. You can probably learn something from one.. Jerk!!! Anyway, I say you should follow ur heart and dont care what others think about your relationship with him. If he is treating you well and u guys have a great time, then thats all that matters. Screw everybody else!!!. See where your heart can take you and dont listen to jerks like Ben Dover.. Gods speed!!

Soccer Girl? Let me tell you something from Old School! We marched to try to get Society to see that were are all the same. Yet society still wants to put Color, in how we see things. I am Caucasan. But I've never looked at a Woman's Race. As the barrier to who I share my feelings with. And you shouldn't either. Be proud of who you are! And don't let any restrictions hold you back.

I think you should put a side the fact that he is 1/2 black and go on that date and get to know how he really is in the inside think of his interior not jus his exterior

I understand where you're coming from. I'm Black too, and I prefer to date other guys of a different race. Simply because I've gotten tired of Black guys sh*t. I know they all aren't like that, but I NEED to try something new. I'm 16... so I'm still experiementing. But I don't think anythings wrong with it. I'mma have me some cute Mixed Babies!!!!!!!!!!!! (lol)

well, i know many white girls who say they like their men like they like their coffee, "strong and black", so why can't you prefer a white guy over a black guy. but still, give this guy a chance, you may find that his race doesn't matter to you anymore once you've gotten to know him.
