DA pregnancy category C. This medication may be harmful to an unborn baby, and could cause addiction or withdrawal symptoms in a newborn. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant during treatment. Vicodin can pass into breast milk and may harm a nursing baby. Do not use this medication without telling your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby. Do not give this medicine to anyone younger than 18 years old. Older adults may be more sensitive to the effects of this medicine.

no shanamama,
vicodin is not a safe medication for you to take during pregnancy... it can be highly addictive to your baby and it will suffer from withdrawls after it is born....why would you want to even take a chance with something so precious as an unborn baby.....your ob/gyn may prescribe something for your episiotomy pain but that would only be for a very short term dosage. and do not forget that vicodin can go thru the breast milk and readdict your little baby.
Good Luck

Most people do not know that narcotics are better for you during pregnancy than tylenol, but I would still look it up or consult a doc to be sure. Sometimes there are nursing hotlines also that can tell you... If a doc prescribed it to a pregnant person, then it is safe...

Well, that would be something that the doctor would have to talk to you about BEFORE he/she prescribed it to you. No idea about your medical/pregnancy history.

You HAVE to talk to the doctor.
