i need mats to pratice breakfalls and throws

judo mats aren't too bad price wise.

I got some (fairly) cheap reconditioned wrestling mats from mats mats mats. they were running a sale.

You could also wait a bit till wrestling season ends in most schools and they might get rid of thier old mats. Its worth a few phone calls to try.

I'm assuming you are short on money that's why you are asking this question; otherwise, you would just buy it. You might not need to make any if you are training at home and you have a nice thick padded carpet. The reason for this is that you can start practicing the how you end the fall on the ground first; you don't really need matts for that. Then if you are ready to throw or be thrown by someone, you could get a used mattress as padding.

Material is so expensive,and the many hours to do a nice job make it tough to make your own and save money.

You and your friends have to watch Craigslist and other sources for some used mats.

Keep your eyes open.When a mom and pop Karate school is closing their doors offer to buy a mat or two.
Check with the YMCA,they replace their's,sometimes every couple of years.
Check with schools in your area for the same reason.

New mats are expensive,try to make due with used for now.

well you could just collect a bunch of blankets
or simply buy one...i imagine they arent that expensive
