My ears are both clogged, my right is worse, and it is driving me nuts. I have a history of ear infections, and extremely waxy ears. I have tried cleaning them several times, with no wax which is rare for me. I am currently battling a mild sinus infection. I have been taking medicines to get rid of the blockage in my nose, and sinuses.

Please do not recommend I hold my nose, close my mouth and blow. That's a good way to bust some ear drums!

My hearing doesn't seem to be affected at all, and there is no pain just discomfort.

It's not swimmers ear. Swimmer's Ear and I are very familiar with each other, I get it so bad I can't even take baths now.

My husband has most of the same problems that you seem to be having. He uses a thing called dentz ear drops...you heat the little bottle, and put in 3-5 dropps in each ear, it eats away at the wax. After a while, take a blue baby ball, fill it with water, and flush it out...it will clean your ears 10x better than q tips and helps with the discomfort.

The best way I know is the old q-tip method. Yes; I know the doctors say not to do it. However; the ear cleaning kits if you have ANY infection whatsoever hurts like crazy. Just be EXTREMELY carefull not to push too far past resistance.

next time you take a shower, stand with each ear (not at the same time) under the warm spray for a few minutes. this will not only soften the wax, but it will wash the wax out. you can try a decongestant -like sudafed.

I was looking at this stuff just yesterday in Walgreens. They have eardrops you put in your ears and there are other drops for "swimmer's ear." You might want to try one or both of these. If it continues, you ought to ask your doctor if there's something else she/he can recommend.
