You don't need a bunch of F's to get held back. The key component is seeing what your overall GPA is...if your overall GPA is lower than a 2.0 (under a C average)..then you have a high probability of getting set back..ESPECIALLY if the classes you are flunking in..are classes that satisfy pre-requisites..I.E. english/math/history/religion/science classes. If it's something like P.E. and Art classes, which tend to be general electives..those Fs...are easily made up with other electives and/or summer school. However, class like math, are, science, history, english etc...usually can't be made up the following year and/or are too long of a course to be made up during the summer...and you must get a C or above in those courses to have "Completed" the pre-requisites for the following year's english/ath/science/core classes. Hope this helps. Moral is..if you have to get all Cs and above in all your classes..

IF you are getting that many F's then you are obviously struggling with school and should consider staying back a year. If your F's are self inflicted because you refuse to pay attention in class, and you refuse to do home work. Then you need an attitude adjustment and you have to take school a lot more serious or you will never be able to get a good job to support yourself .You will be a burden on the people of the U.S. or your parents or your husband. Lack of knowledge is nothing to be proud of. It is only when you get older that you will be able to understand how important your education is. Only you know the answer to this and only you can make the change. There is nothing wrong with staying behind because you don't understand what they are trying to teach you. I would rather stay behind and understand, than rush ahead and fail at life.

it can depend on the subject the F's are in as well.

If you have an F in Math and have to repeat it the next year, you better have at least a D the next year because math is one of the subjects they require you pass in order to graduate. If you get an F in an elective class, there's a possibility the school will just go off your overall GPA and as long as your GPA is passing you should be ok.

No F's in Math, Science or English

um quite a lot, but you can get held back with a d or two. you might be asked to repeat a class then you probablly wont have enought credits to graduate, so i guess just one.

It depends on the school and how your parents feel. It is different everywhere. Talk to you parents about it and see how they feel. Just try not to fail and you won't have to worry about it!

If your in high school its three but i think it depends what state your in. But if your in the eighth then its 2 no matter what you shouldnt be gettin F's anyways they might hold you back if your in high school if you dont pass your exit test.
