After I wake up from a nap, it feels like my head is pounding and I feel like crap.

Its a vascular thing. When that happens to me, the best remedy I've found is one or two pain tablets (ibuprofen or paracetamol) and a caffiene drink, like coffee or a cola.
The caffiene enables the pain meds to work better, and it helps to shrink the swollen blood vessels that are causing the pain.

I believe maybe you are taking too long a nap......cut down on the time and see if you still get the headaches.

take your blood pressure when you get up it could be high good luck
