Whats it like? If you go 19d will you for sure be a bradley crew member?

Yah I hear the M113 was ancient in comparison to the new bradleys. I would love to get in the turret of one of thos SOB's. I was going to go into airborne infantry anyways but I would rather do 19D, if I somehow got into a straight leg infantry unit than so be it. Any idea as to how one can avoid that? Or is it just luck of the dice.

sign up for Hawaii, ft drum, ft bragg, ft cambell, then you have ZERO chance of being in the bradley, althought I am a bradley commander and love the bradley, moved up from driver to gunner, to commander.

Bradley's got way more kills than any infantry leg in the war on terror

Yes and yes.
19D is an Infantry Scout, and the Bradley is the Mech Infantry transportation. It is likely that unless you have the misfortune of getting into a straight leg infantry unit, you too will be a Bradley crew member.
All I have to say is the Bradley was one giant step better than the M113 we had previously.

Maybe, you could also be on a Hummer, a Stryker, a Helicopter, on foot or jumping out of Air Planes.

19Ds can be assigned to various units which have different modes of transportation.

IF you really want to be on a M2 Bradley, then sign up as an 11M, you will be on the infantry version of the Bradley.

My husband is a 19D and he hasn't been in a Bradley since basic training.

There are 19Ds in his unit who use them on a daily basis, but they have had a lot more training on them and there are only a few of them. Most of the scouts in my husband's unit are on Humvees 100% of the time.

Armor Cav Scouts use a Bradley in a Heavy Armor division. The Scout in Striker Brigades probably use Armored Humvees.

It's been over a decade since I've been in so I'm not sure what current MTOE is for the Units.

The Bradley is fun to drive. Cav Scout is a cool job.
