Has anyone here ever been scammed by "needy" individuals, or has anyone here ever been scammed by someone identifying themself as being "christian" ? with all the nigerian scams going around, I just kinda wondered.

Yes. There are lots of people who prey on Christians, often claiming to be Christian, and they expect everything from sypathy to investment in their company. They know Christians have money set aside to help the down and out, and they know that Christians feel like God wants them to help needy people. It is hard to tell who the scammers are sometimes. I am sure I have helped people out who are just taking advantage of me, but I hate to be suspicious of everybody all the time. I guess the scammers will eventually answer to God for being dishonest. BTW, definitely DON'T help anybody who sends you an email from Nigeria, LOL!

Yep, had a couple of Nigerian Scams at work, and about 20 spam Emails a day on average.

One must be careful of con-artists.

You must discern who is needy...

And as for someone that "claims" to be a Christian. You will know the tree by it's fruit. A good tree does not have bad fruit and a bad tree does not have good fruit. You will not get figs from the grapevine or grapes from a thorn bush.

Peace be with you.

Yes, I have. But I have learned from the experience. I'm not so trusting anymore.
When you are, people really take advantage. In this day and time, all you can afford to be is cautious.........

Yup, happens all the time. There are many examples of preachers telling their congregation that they have to pay the church to go to heaven, or get salvation, or whatever.

Nope. I am too much of a skeptic to go easily. They go after the easier targets.
