i sleep a lot.... i sleep at least 8 hrs sometimes more, but then i always take a nap on top of that. like today. slept 9 1/2 hrs then took an hour nap. is too much sleep bad for you and y am i sleeping so much. and i'm not pregnant, on birth control.

Well, no, sleeping too much isn't bad for your health so to speak. But, feeling like you need to sleep a lot may be an indication of something else going on with respect to your health. Are you getting enough exercise? Are you eating right? Depressed perhaps? Do you drink alcoholic beverages often? Have you always needed this much sleep, or is it just a recent thing? If its just a recent thing, maybe you're coming down with something.

I wouldn't be nearly as worried about sleeping too much as I would be about WHY it is I felt the need to sleep so often.

The more you sleep, the more you let your body rest and the less your heart has to work. 9 1/2 isn't long, it's a good number of hours to sleep, you'll live longer than someone who doesn't sleep this long (unless other reason occur, ex: you smoke).

Long is atleast 11 hours a day and your physical condition will suffer under this as your body will get used to this. You need to exercise almost every day, if you do this then you have nothing to worry about.

Some people need more sleep than others for various reasons. But it would be a good idea to inform your doctor. You may have a low haemoglobin, which is easily corrected with iron tablets. Don't worry about it. But do see a doctor.

It could be the birth control. Possibly a side affect are Depression are stress? Nothing really to worry about

its probably OK to get that much sleep i mean children are suppose to get at least 10 hours of sleep but if your that worried the ask your Doctor

some people need more sleep than others. try exercising more and eating better. it's possible you have a viral infection and the extra sleep is your body's way of healing itself.

Too much sleep can make you more tired.

POSSIBLE " SLEEP APNEA" OR POSSIBLY MAYBE YOU ARE SUFFERING WITH DEPRESSION
GET CHECKED YOUR IRON MAY BE LOW AND YOU COULD BE A ANEMIC

I would not say it is bad for you but are you tired? you may want to be checked for mono. it is not a kissing disease.
