I would say that we are becoming more tolerant of other religions which may not follow the Bible. At least one can always hope :-).

Bible, hmmm...a more true definition would be a text written approximately 400 years (I think it was) after the death of Christ, with the writer assuming that what he had been told was factual.

If you have ever played "Whisper Down The Line" or "Pass It On!" you can see how easily words become distorted and given a whole new meaning. And that doesn't even take into context whether the writer was objective or not.

What new study are you writing about here? Just because you say this does not prove anything. A big percentage of the young people in North America are indeed Biblically challenged these days. How prophetic this is. It was foretold in the word of God that in the final days of this earth/heaven age that people would be going from place to place trying to find the truth that the Bible contains.

BUT they will not find it!

I'm sorry for people like yourself who don't know God or His Word. You maybe not be illiterate, but its the same thing><>

Well, look at the facts....the more the Bible is discarded (not that it was ever very well heeded by any large segments of the population...) the further we descend into tyranny and destruction. It is easy enough to see the direct correlationh between a societies morality and practice of sound and established culture in all areas of life, and their peace, personal freedom and prosperity. What was once the most prosperous and free nation on earth, is now descending into bankruptcy, cultural annihilation, tyranny, rampant disease....and just wait till the effects of GMO crops take hold (such farming practices are prohibited in biblical law)...you can add starvation to the list. So you tell me....are we ushering in utopia or the death of our society by rejecting the Bible?

Actually, Bible literacy is important. If you're a believer, you really should know what you're believing. Too many preachers push their beliefs as bible based and they're simply not (take abortion for instance).
If you're a non believer you should know what you don't believe in (the best bible scholars are generally atheists).

Actually it's scarier because the studies show that the U.S. population is predominately christian. This means that they don't read their bibles, they just take whatever the preacher tells them as truth.

I don't think it's so good. People will continue to believe in the Bible and that lack of knowledge will make it easier to manipulate them.

No way, things are not better. I guess I'm bucking the trend, me and many people I know still study our Bibles. We love our daily bread.

Peace!

Just further evidence of the reason for a declining moral value in America.
