I hear people say things like " The Truth of Jesus Christ " and stuff like that all the time. But is it the Truth? Do they know it because they feel it? Do they feel it because they know it?

I tend to use the word Truth differently.

I can have Faith that my car will get me to work today.
I can Believe that my car will get me to work today.
I will not KNOW that my car will get me to work today until it actually gets me to work.

And thats the Truth.

I know I have asked this quit a few times , but I keep getting different answers.

Not to kiss up but I like this question.

I think there are two issues here,

1. The phrase truth is important in the discussion because some times Faith discussions can get so abstract we forget even if it can't be proven there is only one reality when it comes to religion and the origin or our existence.

2. However I do agree the "Christianees" as over used the term truth, I think it's a way to express our conviction that what we believe is real but it's not entirely fair because as certain as we are about it it's not really a proven fact.

What I see as the "Truth" when it comes to the Bible is the true word of Jesus Christ - not what these preachers proclaim, not what the Vatican says, but what is actually written - which is very simply "have peace and love one another - do not hate anyone for any reason", and "every belief is valid - even that of the nonbeliever - do not decry any belief or faith - it is a journey that must be made".

If these two were followed by everyone, the world would probably be a much better place.

As for me, I have zero faith. I am too much of a scientist. But I have had several experiences happen to me, so I say I have zero faith - but I know that Jesus, God, Angels, Aliens, Satan and more exist - which slots people off no end.

Truth is the objective reality.
Faith is what connects us to the Truth.
Because I have faith in the truth of Jesus Christ, I am a completely different person than what I was in my ignorance. That is reality, and that is the truth.
I could easily list 100 different ways Jesus Christ has changed my life in a practical way, but I won't bore you with the details.

I don't believe in contradictions. I believe in certain things to be real, and certain things to be falsehood. Why is it hard to believe that something's authentic and somethings a lie? I think the world is such a mess because to many people believe in lies and deception. Yes we Christians often use the word truth, that's cause Christ himself said He is the truth. So don't be surprised when His followers use the word truth. They're just being obedient to their Saviour. Isn't it refreshing to see something crystal clear in this confusing world. You can't deny that there is something beautiful in sincere belief, and it is even more beautiful with the power of truth behind it. As long as the water falls on the land , and the sun shines over creation, the power of truth will stand, even if I myself rejected it tomorow.
And you can count on it, that won't happen. Blessings and thank you for that honest question.

When You know it you know it . I have studied many religions and when the truth is revealed then you know. I can only speak for myself. I know others who think they know the truth and they are misled. So it is a matter of sincerity. Read Bhagavad Gita as it is BY Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada Then you will be able to understand all religions and truth. There is your truth my truth and this truth, and that truth but there is an unchangeable absolute truth which can not be changed. Only God can reveal that and it is universal, nonsectarian and beyond all religious designations. The truth is you can change your religion but you can not change the truth.

Why would we do that?

Are you opposed to hearing the Truth of Christ?

We use the word "truth" because there are many false religions out there

Actually, you won't know your car got you to work then, either. You could be unconscious in a ditch somewhere, dreaming you're at work as your life ebbs away after that horrible 15 car pileup..
