I am A Christian, but I doubt my faith. I pray to God and such, but I realize that faith is believing in something without knowing for sure. That, of course, causes me some doubt. Are there other Christians out there who doubt? and is that wrong? I just don't understand how everyone can be so sure they are right. none of us will know for sure until we die...

It's time for you to study Richard Dawkins, my son. Keep that mind of yours open and working. Your doubts are justified. Start with "The Blind Watchmaker" and "The God Delusion." And try Sam Harris and Daniel Dennett, too.

Or fer a quickie, search YouTube: < Richard Dawkins > (esp. the two long clips (1:40 min. total) at: < Dawkins Lynchburg >.

If you're doubting, then find out why. If you get the same answer from several sources, then you might have to check with the library. Look for The Elegant Universe.

It seems a lifetime of indoctrination has not completely shattered your ability to reason. Well done! I hope you begin asking more and more questions, and reach the inevitable conclusion.

I wish I could IM or email you, but never mind that.

I'll second the Dawkins books suggestion.

Doubt is a normal human condition. We all doubt. But I have found that the longer I serve God the less I doubt Him. I have also learned to know when He is talking to me through many conversations I have had with Him. At first it seemed like intuition which doubt often accompanies. But after seeking God I come to know it's God and lose the doubt. He said that His sheep know His voice. Keep talking to Him.

You are slowly starting to open your mind.

My guess is you were raised in a christian family and are now starting to think for yourself.

Don't be afraid to go against what you were taught.

Let evidence mold your believes. Don't let your beliefs create false evidence.

Hope you continue to question and discover

Most of us atheists were right where you are at some point. That is your sense of reason poking into it.
