Frozen fruit and/or banana (could be frozen as well)(buy it frozen at the grocery store), along with flavored yogurt and ice cubes.
Make sure your blender can handle the ice though or it will not be smooth.
Or you could put all these into an ice cream freezer just don't let it freeze all the way (just get really cold).
My smoothies have to be real cold (I'm like that).
If a smoothie gets too thick (is there really such a thing?) add a little fruit juice or milk, but I don't think, that will happen.

I make fruit smoothies all the time - and they're really simple.
(This makes two)
First, I crush about 20 ice cubes in the blender. Then, I add whatever fruit I want (1 banana, 15 strawberries, cup of blueberries). Next, I add a couple tablespoons of milk. Finally, I add a tablespoon or so of Splenda (sugar's fine too). If I have any heavy whipping cream, I add a little of that too. Then I blend it all together, and usually add a little more milk, until it is of the right consistancy. It's that simple!
It's also really fun to try out different flavors. Banana Peanut Butter is SOO good (same as above but add a couple tablespoons of peanut butter and a little more milk), and so is Berry (strawberries, raspberries, blueberries). Good luck and good eats!

Start by freezing fresh strawberries (or buy them in the freezer section) add those to a blender with your favorite juice. Try mango nectar (found in the juice isle) ... blend until smooth with any other fruits you would like to add. If you would like it with more sweetness, add some honey. This will give you a pretty thick smoothie without the yogurt and all fruit. Very healthy.

Strawberries, Kiwi
Banana
yogurt, vanilla
milk
peaches
yogurt
milk
Instant Breakfast can be used as a thickener as well as adding vitamins
I even put Ricotta Cheese in mine for my kids as an after school treat until I got supper cooked (that way you get lots of calcium if you don't like milk)
I would also add a few ice cubes.
There was another dry ingredient I used....can't think of it, but it came in Strawberry, Vanilla, and Chocolate. I haven't seen it on the store shelves.
But just put together fruits you like, some milk, Instant Breakfast, or Ovaltine is good too.

I like to use frozen yogurt. You can get it practically at any store in any flavor. But I do a basic banana strawberry smoothie. I use banana, fresh strawberries, some oj or some low fat milk, vanilla frozen yogurt, and if i am on the go i will add some protein powder if i know i can't sit down and eat... I like them this way because i like the creamy and thick texture. or if you don't like the frozen yogurt you can use any juice and some ice instead.

I just put a banana, some strawberries, and some milk or yogurt in a blender and turn it on. occasionally I'll throw in a couple ice cubes, and maybe some peanut butter.
