Not all banks use Chex

You might click on the link I've provided and click on Illinois - under State Lists.

There are quite a few non Chex banks listed

Also, most credit unions do not give a rats tush if you are on ChexSystems. They will start you at a Savings account only for about 6 months but then after that you can get a checking account.

All banks that I am aware of use chexsystems. The best thing you can do is pay off the bad debt and fix the problem!
