I wouldn't. Because now days it easier and cheaper to find a ticket on the internet. You have a variety of search engines to look at and they give a great detail of your ticket that you search for. Also travel agents add like 50-100 dollars for themselves cause they buy the ticket from airlines. So in the long run you would save more if you bought from the internet.

It all depends on what you want to do. If you are doing a simple round trip with domestic flights, its fine to do it yourself, but if you are doing an international reservation or one that makes multiple stops a travel agent is the way to go. They will find you the best fares and make sure things go smoothly for you. Even with a simple domestic trip they will have access to more airlines and fares than the on line sites.
