take him straight around to the vet ,
1st and for most
8 weeks is very young indeed ;
if he has diarrhoea
He may have a bowel infection
or be sensitive to a change in diet
so may be subject to dehydration
he could get very ill really fast
( you are right .. loo-roll is too harsh on small bottoms )
Cleaning up little messy bottoms;
If you do the clean up , on your lap ,
put a towel across your lap first ,
to keep you dry and clean
and keep the kitty comfortable
hold firmly but gently on your lap
, with one hand
method;
put warm water + a little baby shampoo,
in a bowl
i use Jey-Cloths, dipped in the water, as wipes
they are soft ,
and can be used, as drying towels as well ,
when kitty is clean
you can throw them all away, after one use
use a plastic bag, tie and dispose ,
have everything to hand .
( the kitten will feel more secure,
if you can hold him there and work,
without having to get up, mid way )
always make sure the litter tray,
is cleaned as often as your kitten uses it
I do hope your kitten, will be alright soon

My mom has a long-haired white cat, and sometimes he gets himself messy even though he is full grown. Sometimes, they'll clean it up themselves, sometimes not. If you notice it immediately, warm water and a soft clothe should do it. However, if it dries there, you can also use clippers to just trip the hair. Not only will that get rid of the "yuck", if the hair around that area is shorter, it helps to keep that from happening. Just be careful. It's best to have someone else hold the cat while you do it so that the cat's movement doesn't make you unsteady.

I had the same prob with my kitten and she has a habit of getting it all over her paws when she covering her mess. I keep her tray clean continually during the day but she still manages to make a smelly mess. I had to give her a sink wash the other week though as she smelt all over. Damp clothe best for the backside but they dont like it at all, my cat goes mad when you try to clean her bum.

We also have kittens 3 in-total, which are all now 8 months, we have had them since they were 6 weeks old.
Best thing to use is warm wet cotton wool, this would feel like it's mothers tounge. Also you can buy pet wipes, just the same as baby wipes..
Good luck

now's the appropriate time. Your kitten is at an excellent age to be on your place. thank you for waiting the 8 week era to guarantee a nicely balanced kitten. The vet will verify for fleas, worms and regular ordinary wellbeing. Your kitten gets his/her vaccine time table and spaying/neutering date. thank you for being a accountable puppy proprietor.

I have a long haired cat too. I think you can buy pet wipes (just like baby wipes) at PetSmart or Petco. Or you could just try a warm washcloth. Good luck!

my kitten was having this problem for a while. he was also then stepping in the mess. we got cat wipes from petco, and we also got some spray-on foam cat shampoo (it doesnt bother them as much as getting a bath). when his stool was very loose, we had his butt shaved close for a little while.

Use just a soft cloth and warm water for now. We keep baby wipes on hand for this purpose.
