An intercessor is one who has agreed to stand in your place before God and take whatever judgment would have been pronounced upon you. Moses interceded on behalf of the children of Israel when they spoke against both him and God. Moses knew that the people would not survive the punishment, so out of his true love for them, he stood in their place.

The bible says that Jesus was tempted by ALL things, so he has gone to Heaven and became our intercessor. This means he is in the middle between us and God, trying to explain to God why you did or did not take certain actions.
It's kind of like your mother trying to explain to your Dad why you did so and so. That way , your dad doesn't get as mad as he normally would and punish you.

Dad just screamed at you because he thinks you forgot to take the trash out when actually it was your little brother's turn... you run and grab Mom who's aware of the detail change and drag Mom over and say "Tell him." Mom tells him and calms him down, plying him with a cherry pie if he promises to stop screaming... Mom is your intercessor...

Someone who intercedes for you. Jesus is our intercessor to God when satan accuses us (read Job). Also, if we just can't find the words when we pray, Jesus goes to God for us to explain what our prayer is. It's Jesus "going to bat for us" to the Father on our behalf.
