What kind of buns? Hamburger? My grandmother always buttered them then cooked them in a skillet. Made the best hamburgers.

Hoagie buns or any other bun could be done the same way or butter and put in the toaster oven and toast or under the broiler in your oven.

Fall asleep rear end up on a nude beach? *smiles*

Seriously it all depends on the size of the buns and if you want both sides toasted. Buttering the inside then throwing them in your toaster oven is a great way to toast both sides. Buttering the inside and laying them face down in a skittle toasts the inside nicely. Buttering is important, without butter your bun won't toast evenly.

if u have a grill or a grill pan, just butter the insides and place face down and cook till lighty toasted....like toast. make sure not to burn em. but if u do, just take a butter knife and scrape off the burned parts. they'll still be ok. if u dont have a grill or a grill pan, throw the buns in the toaster. or toast in a small saute pan with a lil butter till all nice and toasty. doesn't take much! enjoy!

The way that I toast my hamburger buns is easy.Take and spread a lite coat of mayo on a bun half, then grill on a grill, flip over and do the other side. Then do the other half. They make a old fashion hamburger.

for like hamburgers?

Simply just split them apart, place them under a broiler, or toaster oven until brown, but not black that means they were in there for too long =)
