I am in my early 30's and was dating my ex for 1.5years. We broke up after doing 6mo of a long distance relationship thing. He calls me a couple of times a week when it's convenient for him. He says that one day he'd like to move across the country so that we can be closer, but until then, he was very unhappy w/ the LDR and broke up w/ me. I still really love him and hope that things will change, but should I really just stop communicating w/ him so that I can move on?

Was the break-up on good or bad terms? Do you guys get along well other than the long distance factor? If all is good then, sure, why not?? My first bf was very long distance (me in MO, him in CA) & even though it didn't work out cause of the distance, we still talk & are the best of friends to this day.......and it was like 3-4 years ago that we dated. We can disuss just about anything with each other. In fact, up until Sunday of this week he was the ONLY ex that I was still in contact with.

I think that you should stop communicating with him if he only calls you when it is convenient for him If he still love you there would be no distance or no excuse to break a relationship off. I think he likes you but at the same time by yall being far away he has needs that you cant meet being so far away so u must weigh you options and follow your heart.

You both like each other and only distance ended your relationship, so you might as well stay in touch.

If you break off contact, you will probably still think about him a lot and it will be based on your fantasy, not reality, so it could easily take longer before you are ready to move on than if you stay in touch.

So stay in touch, enjoy his friendship, remember you are not a couple any more so you are allowed to fall in love with someone else, but this will only happen when you are ready to move on.

If he is able to move back before you are ready to move on, you can get back together.

If he does not move back before you are ready to move on, you will move on and you will still have a friend.

nicely, if he hasn't come back in six weeks possibilities are high he isn't. it somewhat is the 1st situation you would be able to desire to realize. 2d, start up dating now! or a minimum of pass have super intercourse with as many adult males as you may. third, comprehend he's checking up on you just to be nosey, and see what you're doing hoping he won't pay attention which you're dating, slumbering with absolutely everyone. you need to pass on so as to get closer. Whining approximately that's not helping you. positioned your huge woman panties on and comprehend he's the single which lost no longer you. stable situation you probably did no longer marry him, or have a baby suitable? Be chuffed that he moved directly to her and be chuffed they're chuffed do no longer hate using fact appearances are not each and every thing. yet surely do no longer save crying over this guy. In relationships you in general would desire to hold sufficient of your heart back only in case they do some thing like this. you do certainly no longer opt to offer somebody the flexibility to truly destroy you. In different words on no account supply all the heart till you know actual the different guy or woman has given there is first.

If you too can remain friends sure why not. But usually ex's are ex's for a reasons. I mean comon dude, there are to many guys to be tripin on keepn an ex as a friend. It sounds like you are still interested in him. If this is the case then I say no, dont keep him as a friend.

Yes, you should stop talking to him. It's the only way for you to stop waiting for something that may or may not come to be. Circumstances are what they are, and you will not meet anybody new and exciting if you keep holding on to a promise. If it's meant to be, you'll meet up later, and if it's not, you will not have wasted all that time waiting for something that just wasn't going to work out.

Texting lets you control the tone and establish what kind of conversation you want to have. Learn here https://tr.im/bKEMp
This is probably the most important part. With texting, you can stop and think about what you want to say to your ex at each step of the way. Instead of reacting emotionally, you can take your time, figure out the right thing to say (I’ll give you most of it), and be strategic with your ex without saying something that you’ll regret.

stop all communication. if he wants to move across country to be closer to you then wait for him to do that. dont sit around waiting for him to call when its convenient for you. it sounds like you are the person he goes to when he is lonely... so not only is he getting whatever he wants where he is at... but you are giving him everything else that where he is at doesn't fulfill. guys like that don't deserve to be catered to. let him chase you. and if you two are supposed to be together then it will happen on your terms.

Why stop communicating with someone that makes you feel happy?someone that put smiles on your face? I guess it's better to keep that communication stuff, coz you'll never your if he's the one or not. I know someone who has the same situation as you do, and now she regretted that she stopped communicating with the guy she loved. Now she's married to someone she's not sure worth of her love.

you can keep in touch, but I would only talk maybe 1x a week. the rest can be done in email. I think that way he knows you arent just sitting there waiting for him. It will give you the opportunity to move on, yet try to keep a friend.
